Use Copilot to help with Excel Challenges Course
Duration
This is a half day (3 hours) course.
Knowledge Pre-requisites
People who use Excel regularly and who appreciate some of the challenges building Excel spreadsheets. (This is not aimed at people getting started in Excel.)
This course assumes that people have attended both the Excel Foundation Course and the Introduction to Copilot.
Learning Outcomes
You will learn how to use Copilot, and possibly other Copilot, to help with common Excel challenges: for example, get advice on how to perform an Excel task, understand an Excel spreadsheet, understand how to use an Excel function, write Excel formulas and to diagnose and fix Excel errors.
Agenda
The course will cover how Copilot can help with several typical Excel challenges, for example:
- get advice on how to perform an Excel task. Attendees describe a problem in English to Copilot will write the formulas required and explain how to apply (and possibly build an example spreadsheet)
- understand the formulas and functions Excel spreadsheet (one you may have inherited for example);
- understand how to use an Excel function (for example, choose good values for the arguments) or choose the appropriate function to use: e.g., is VLOOKUP or XLOOKUP better in a particular case?
- write Excel formulas and
- diagnose why Excel cell contains an error value e.g., #N/A, #NAME?, #NULL!, and suggest how to fix the formula or problem that caused it.
Conclusion
There will be a group discussion on:
- how useful are these Copilot to help with Excel?
- What are good guidelines and best practices when using these Copilot?
